After a significant drop in its movements, transactions by DOC (Credit Order Document) will be extinct. The deadline for operations to be carried out using this payment method ends next week, is 15 January. The information was confirmed by the Federation of Banks (Febraban) on Monday, 8.
To the deputy director of the institution, Walter Faria, the population's lack of interest in this type of transaction justifies the closure of activities. In recent years, Many payment alternatives have emerged between institutions that are faster and cheaper than DOC and TEC (Special Credit Transfer).
Although, the launch of PIX, in November of 2020, was the main aggravating factor in the. “Both TEC and DOC are no longer the first option for customers and their use has been falling steadily in recent years. Customers have given preference to PIX, for being free, instant and also for the value that can be transacted”, explains Faria.
TEC will also be closed
Just like the DOC, TEC operations will also be discontinued. The resource was used especially by companies to pay benefits to their employees. But, banks will still process TEC transactions until 29 of February between institutions and clients.
After that, the closure of both modalities will be definitive. The deadline will allow sending and scheduling DOC until 10pm on the day 15. Customers must also schedule TEC operations by this date. After that, Financial institutions will have until the end of February to process and finalize the systems.
The two modalities that will be extinguished by Febraban operate with a maximum value of R$ 4.999,99 in payment schedules, even between different banks.
Devaluation in numbers
Launched in the year 1985, the DOC ended up losing space for different types of payment methods. At the moment, the number of transactions was already significantly lower than PIX. But, options were also lagging behind the check, bank slip and debit card.
