Technology giant Intel could be acquired by two companies with global leadership. TSMC and Broadcom are showing strong interest in buying parts of the Blue Team, combining the acquisition of different sectors of the company. According to Wall Street Journal sources, Broadcom would take over the design and marketing part, while the Taiwanese company would take over the division of the Intel chip factories.
To handle the acquisition, Broadcom had already anticipated discussions with its board with the aim of formalizing an offer proposal. The lack of a purchasing partner, that exceeds the factory part, would be delaying negotiations. Although, TSMC emerged as a strong possibility for the business. The company would already be forming a group of investors to discuss the topic.
TSMC seeks to expand coverage
At the moment, a TSMC, a giant from Taiwan, is the largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world, being responsible for supplying chips in a large part of the global territory. The proposal to acquire Intel is precisely to expand this scope, since the company has teams in many other important territories in the global market.
Other companies have shown interest
Despite the strong interest of those involved in closing the purchasing partnership, there is nothing formalized by either party. Furthermore, the split acquisition of Intel is an old subject discussed by the technology market. Other companies have already shown interest in the purchasing division, like Apple, Qualcomm e Samsung.
