Pix has been consolidating itself as the preferred method among consumers in the Brazilian energy sector. A recent survey, carried out by the Central Bank (BC) in November last year, revealed that 76,4% of the Brazilian population already uses the instant tool in their routine. Now, economic sectors have significantly quantified this adherence among their target audience. Companies in the energy sector have highlighted strong growth in the modality.
An example of this preference in the segment is the company Energisa, electrical energy distributor operating in 11 Brazilian states. According to a survey released by the company, in April, the company reached the mark of 100 millions of electricity bills paid with Pix, which represents almost half of the payments recorded. In all, were registered 4 millions of customers who paid their bills using this method, symbolizing 40% of invoices paid.
Bets on promotional campaigns
Adhering to Pix for consumer and business transactions is a constantly growing trend. In December, the payment method presented a record number of subscriptions when registering 252,1 million transactions and the movement of R$ 162,9 billion. The facilities guaranteed by Pix, and its adaptations to the financial market, have made companies expand this preference through usage incentives among their clientele.
Energisa, which was also a pioneer by being the first to use Pix as a payment method for all its energy bills, still in 2021, invested in promotional campaigns to reach the published numbers. Through this strategy, significantly increased invoice payments using the method, proving consumer adherence.
Furthermore, the company's dealerships, located in the states of Acre, Mato Grosso do Sul and Tocantins, have more than 50% of payments made using this technology.
